Helmholtz
You may be asking what the small tube is on our Resonator Delete? The small tube is a Helmholtz resonator. In an exhaust system, the Helmholtz will be a container of gas (usually air) with an open hole (neck or port) leading into the resonator. The volume of air/gas in and near the open hole vibrates due to the 'elasticity' of the air/gas inside. A common example is an empty bottle: the air inside vibrates when you blow across the top!
What is Drone?
Drone is the point at which the exhaust sound resonates in the cabin, creating a noise that most drivers dislike, so the decibels and frequencies may vary slightly depending on the driver and the car. That's why we created Anti Drone Resonator Deletes. When removing a standard resonator, you are paying the difference between someone who wants to give you a pipe and throw it on the car, and a company that designed a product for a specific job, who took the time to research, develop and test to make the product the best it can be!
RPM PERFORMANCE Anti Drone Resonator Deletes have been designed to reduce the rate of resonance throughout the rev range, specifically the motorway speed on UK roads (70 mph). This is because if you are driving in a car for a short journey, then for most drivers a bit of sporty noise isn't bad, but if you are driving for a long time, then you don't want the vehicle to resonate in the cabin.
