What is a GPF?

Gasoline Particulate Filters (GPF) are an emissions after-treatment technology based on Diesel Particulate Filters (DPF), developed to control particulate emissions from Gasoline Direct Injection (GDI) engines.

It is also the most restrictive component of the exhaust system. Our GPF Delete increases gas flow for maximum output.

What will it sound like?

Turbocharged engines need to be able to breathe. By removing the stock GPF for the RPM PERFORMANCE GPF Delete, you effectively increase flow, so you should notice a slight increase in power and a significant increase in sound, especially during overrun.

Will the Engine Management Light (EML) illuminate?

No.

Unlike many others, we have fitted an internal element for EML control/suppression, which prevents it from coming on.

Our GPF Deletes are a direct bolt-on replacement for the stock GPF and have a 2.5" diameter.

Helmholtz

You may be asking what the small tube is on our Resonator Delete? The small tube is a Helmholtz resonator. In an exhaust system, the Helmholtz resonator acts as a gas container (usually air) with an open hole (neck or port) leading into the resonator. The volume of air/gas within and near the open hole vibrates due to the 'elasticity' of the air/gas within. A common example is an empty bottle: the air inside vibrates when you blow across the top!

What is Drone?

Drone is the point at which exhaust sound resonates in the cabin, creating a noise most drivers dislike. Decibels and frequencies may vary slightly depending on the driver and car. This is why we created Anti Drone Resonator Deletes. When removing a standard resonator, you are paying the difference between someone who wants to give you a pipe and throw it on the car, and a company that designed a product for a specific job, who took the time to research, develop and test to make the product the best it can be!​

RPM PERFORMANCE Anti Drone Resonator Deletes are designed to reduce resonance throughout the rev range, specifically at motorway speeds on UK roads (70 mph). This is because if you are driving for a short journey, a bit of sporty noise isn't bad for most drivers, but if you are driving for extended periods, you don't want the vehicle to resonate in the cabin.
